Location. Positioned at the port of Gulfport, Miss., and overlooking the Gulf of Mexico is the Island View Casino Resort Hotel. The Marine Life Oceanarium is one half mile away, and the Mississippi Coast Coliseum & Convention Center and Beauvoir Jefferson Davis Home are within eight miles. Gulfport Biloxi International Airport is less than six miles from the property.
Hotel Features. Breakfasts, lunches and dinners are available at the 24 hour Island View Buffet, which hosts live action food stations and a dessert bar. Three bars are located in the hotel, which serve an array of frosty libations. Gaming action is offered around the clock in the casino, where 14 table games including blackjack and roulette are available, as are more than 1,000 slot machines. Amenities include meeting rooms, concierge services and a gift shop.
Guestrooms. The 500 guestrooms and suites contain walnut finished furnishings, crown molding, upholstered armchairs and ottomans, custom draperies and d←cor in harmonizing shades of deep tan, cream and slate gray. Each includes 32 inch flat screen televisions and coffeemakers. Bathrooms provide multi jet showers and Gilchrist and Soames toiletries.
Expert Tip. The Port of Gulfport was established in 1902 as a deep water port, maintaining a depth of 32 36 feet throughout. This port with public piers provides direct access to sea lanes, air, rail and interstate highways and is becoming a leader in international trade. The port moves more than 2.3 million tons of cargo including tropical fruit, frozen poultry, livestock, aluminum, steel and wood.
