Location. The Antica Villa Poggitazzi is located in Terranuova Bracciolini, Italy, 3.5 kilometres from the nearest village, Loro Ciuffenna, 25 kilometres from Arezzo and 40 kilometres from Florence.
Hotel Features. Built in 1911 as a farmhouse, the Villa Poggitazzi has been sensitively restored to retain its Tuscan rural charm. The villa looks out over 430 hectares of grounds which include vineyards, olive groves and ancient woodland. There is an Italian garden, church and oil mill next to the house and an outdoor pool set within gardens planted with bougainvillea and pine trees.

The Villa Poggitazzi's restaurant is open for dinner and is situated in the villa's old wine cellar, which opens out onto the Italian garden. It serves typically Tuscan dishes including Crostini, Bean Soup and Pasta with Wild Boar.

Guests can take part in cooking lessons at the villa, while tastings can be arranged of the villa's produce, including extra virgin olive oil and Pecorino cheese. Hunting, mountain biking and swimming can be enjoyed on site, while there are tennis courts and a bowling alley nearby. Opportunities for walking and hiking are extensive.

Expert Tip. Loro Ciuffenna straddles a deep gorge, cut into the rock by the River Ciuffenna. Full of character, narrow lanes run through the old part of the village, while amenities, include a supermarket and a post office. It's a good place to check out the local food too, with more than a smattering or restaurants, bars and pizzerias.
